do polarized lenses come in different strengths or are they all the same?

I don't have the technical vocabulary to answer your question properly but I can tell you that all polarized lenses are NOT the same.  Solar bats (also a sponsor) are a nice, quality product.

Yes, to make it simple. In polarized sun glasses you get what you pay for. I like  Costa Del Mar. Get the best you can afford.
