Sunday Afternoon In The Kayak

Featured Replies

Hey guys, I just wanted to post this up, best day of fishing for me...EVER. lol. I only caught 1, but I had a bite but lost him on a firetiger spinnerbait. The one I DID catch, was fished on a Berkley Havoc Pit Boss in green pumpkin on a carolina rig...21" and 10lbs. My best ever.post-39012-0-80208800-1436148220_thumb.jpost-39012-0-47057400-1436148221_thumb.j

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you might want to check your scale. A 21" largemouth would have to have roughly a 23" girth to be 10 lbs, which is WAY outside the norm. Here's a fairly accurate way of estimating the weight of your fish by length only https://tpwd.texas.gov/fishboat/fish/recreational/catchrelease/bass_length_weight.phtml

Also here's a calculator that you can enter length and girth and get an accurate weight http://www.bassresource.com/bassfishing/fishcalculator.html

Very nice catch though, and definitely a fish to be proud of!

Man that water behind the pic looks awesome! Better buy a new scale though buddy. Great catch regardless of the weight.

Great catch. Closer to 5-6 lb range IMO. Invest in a new scale.
