All I know about swimbaits and ROF is what ROF stands for. Rate Of Fall correct? When a swimbait has a rating of ROF 12, what exactly does that mean?

I have the accurist and energy both. The energy may be a tad better for normal casting but the added option of the flipping switch is nice to have and I use mine with it engaged while using those techniques.

I've done it before. The insert has a smaller inside edge which is what holds in in the original metal frame. They snap right in. No glue or adhesive needed.

Second paragraph he states he's had no luck with larger baits. Larger baits do not always equal larger fish. Sometimes you need a smaller profile to emulate the size bait natural to the waters you fish. I used to use 6" version of the slugO on my lake I grew up fishing. I would catch fish but mostly dinks-2lbs max. Started using the 4.5" version in the same color and began catching fish from dinks up to 7lbs.

The major variable is how long of a pause you use in whichever cadence your using.

How you gonna work a Sammy or other topwater through that nasty grass and slime?

I could be way wrong but I do not think a 10lb bass will be carrying 3lbs of roe as Catt stated. A bass that big may carry up to a lb or so. I think too many guys think because of how rounded a certain fish may look that it's roe has the same density as its regular flesh/meat and own internal organs. On the other hand, I do believe that in the fall when they again become that swollen, the bait they seem to force themselves to eat would weigh greater then it's actual roe therefor weighing actually more in the fall.

Here in Florida we have WATER temps in the 90's right now. Plenty of fish are hiding in the shallows. The one thing I've been taught to think about is this... When it's too bright in the sun we can put on sunglasses. Bass however cannot. For them one of the only ways to prevent looking into direct sunlight is, to hide under thick matted weeds and grass!!!

Go to a bait shop that carries inserts o check Abu website and order a new one and pop it in.

Try it. As long as there is shade then there's a good chance you'll find fish. Especially if your already catching fish on frogs from there.

Your posts confuse me. Your first post you state that if there's fish present they'll hit just about anything. Now your saying other lure types may work better. So which should I be using???

I'm sure it done purposely. Make it as vague as they can so if they wanna screw with you they have the ability.

I believe penetrating oils contain a component that breaks down the grease. I myself would takeout apart and clean it and use any synthetic reel oil you can obtain at any local bait shop.
