never had much luck there myself either.  Seems that the good areas are known to locals and they aren't to free about sharing info with the tourists.  I did have some good luck in a few of the swaths and caught a few sea trout and pinfish on the fly rod.

What are you looking to catch?  If you're just looking for some good eating, fish double rigs with cut clam in the first trough from the beach.   Many times this won't be but a few feet deep, but thats where the whiting are.   Move around a little until you find them, but when you do, it's on.   It's one of those see it to believe it type things, 12 inch bull whiting in shin deep water.   It's what they are built to do though.   The only time I catch them in the second trough is at a low tide....but on an incoming or high outgoing fish close.

I'm really just looking to catch anything. What are you most likely to catch? I've seen some people pull some little sand sharks out, and some whiting. But to me it don't really matter just looking to have a little fun with it.

Anyone mentioning the trough or swash knows what they are talking about.
