Got Lucky

Featured Replies

I've been debating on buying a new Rod to run straight braid on for frogs and pitching in grass. Well today my buddy came over and brought a 7,6 mh veritas that he broke the tip and about 2 inches off for me to help with the warranty and clean a reel for him. He gave me the broke Rod and I was wandering will around 2 inches being gone hender the sensitivity or anything? i think I know the asnwer just thought I would ask.

It should not effect sensitivity at all, assuming you properly put a new tip on it.  Losing length off the tip will make the rod's action faster but 2" probably won't be very noticeable.

I know someone with the exact same rod with about 2.5" broke off his, and it made it like a xf action heavy rod. It still feels good to me

Well.............dang.................I was expecting something a little racier than that when you said you got lucky.  :teeth:

With their warranty I would just send it in unless the action being a bit stiffer/faster won't bother you.

I feel like that would be good for fishing thick grass and im always delayed on topwater bites. I would but he already sent the model number in for warranty.
