Muskie In Blue Ridge?

Featured Replies

I've heard rumors that they stocked Lake Blue Ridge (north Ga.) with muskie a long time ago like the 70's or something.  I couldn't find much on the internet, but I think it would be crazy to catch a muskie in Ga.  If they did stock it did they all die from the heat, or could some survive?  If there are any how would you catch them?  Just use bigger bass plugs?  I guess there is really only one way to find out.

If there was musky your best bet would be carters I guess .There are a few walleye in carters , along with small mouth but are a rare sight . Musky I don't think so , but they are definitely not stocked .

If they were stocked in the 70's they'd be nearing 40 years old, don't believe muskie live that long.

I fished the Blue Ridge for Walleye back in 2009 didnt catch any but they claim they catch them at the dam on minnows late fall, the redneck tackle store on the way in was a good source of info.
