How Cool Is This: Livetarget Hollow Body Sunfish

No, I am not either. I will say this...Koppers might be the best company at catching fisherman. You guys run right out and buy your $13 dollar fancy pants thingy, I'll just be over here catching fish on my stuff.

I bought 1 field mouse for $13. It filled with water after a few seconds and sank. They sent me 2 for free as replacements. 1/2 did the same thing. They collect dust in my topwater box. Snag proof frogs work great for me. Cheaper too!

The paint is to catch fishermen. The action is what will draw strikes. This is the perpetual frog conversation though.

i hear ya.... i'm just saying for the money they're charging seems they'd like powder coat that and try to match the color of the body at the very least...  i'm no expert in bait making, just saying for the money....

A company called Picasso already has something very similar. Been around for a while.

I mentioned this on page one.  That thing SUCKS.  The tail is so thick and stiff I literally never was able to hook up using it despite a bunch of strikes.  I stole it's hooks to upsize the ones in a lunker frog and used the body as an Xmas ornament.  Definitely it's best use haha

Yup.  I've had quite a few bass hammer it with a 0% hook-up ratio.  Hopefully the LiveTarget is better.

I better not tell you guys what the Deps and Evergreen frogs go for. Your heads would blow right off haha

I just think I can find a bait that can do that job at a lesser price, maybe not so much with a swimbait. For $4 on sale at DSG I got a bunch of Booyah Pad Crashers and Poppin Pad Crashers. IMO, they really don't look at a frog bait and say, hey, that's a frog! They look at it and say, hey, I can eat that! They see the colors, but they don't see a frog. Most frogs can imitate any number of things, including Bluegill. The Booyah frogs have great soft yet durable bodies, awesome colors, and premium hooks. I've never had a problem getting hook ups with them. No need to pay $13.50, when I can get the job done for 4 bones.

X2. The sunfish looks cool, but I can't really think of any practical application for it. Given the choice, I'll take a spro frog any day. ;)

I'm not saying go cheap, I'm saying go with good value. It's like working hard vs working smart and efficient. You can drive an overpriced car, or you can buy one that does the same thing with similar amenities for cheaper... But if you like to burn thousands of dollars for the fun of it, you can do just that.

I will admit that the price is on the steeper side, and as these baits make there way to the market we will see there effectiveness. Am I excited for this new bait ? Yes. However I have been down this road before with LiveTarget, and I was quickly disappointed. Although I really love the LT frogs, the LT mice was a big let down to me. Several have mentioned it already, and that is the intake of water. A few good hits from bass and this bait is going to start taking on water quick. The question for me now lies in which road is the new sunfish bait going to take? Is it going to be tough like the frog, or weak like the mouse? Time will tell.

When it comes down to the price of this bait. Imho those that can afford it will buy it, those that can't won't. When or "if"  this bait performs and delivers on its effectiveness, the naysayers will secretly go purchase one, and those that have one will buy more. We have all seen this with other baits hundreds of times.

I love the notion that my toilets are plumbed to fill with champagne and I put 108 octane race gas in my lawnmower because I want this.   :laugh5:

I get it, but I don't buy everything I can afford is my point. Sometimes, its worth passing up. If I find proof that this bait works (ie... I watch my fishing buddy catch fish on it in our local waters better than my frogs) than sure, I'll pick one up...

Like I said, I will try this bait, I like LT, but I have Hudd Gills that are on the way, and that I have now that can do this application, and are more versatile, but they're expensive. A cheaper alternate, almost the same profile is the Mann's Goliath Frog.

Those hooks don't look like they would work very well in that position...

Hope it's as good as it looks

Those hooks don't look like they would work very well in that position...

I,like you, and the tester on YouTube thought the same thing, but after trials he came to the conclusion that it worked, with both hooks sinking in.

I couldn't disagree more about some of the comments stating the profile of a frog will be the same as the profile of this sunfish.   Yes, bass do everything of instincts, but a profile, especially a detailed sunfish profile will trigger that instinct.   And sure, there are a ton of baits out there that we can say......ehhhhhh....kind of looks like all the others.  True the majority of the time.  But this brings something different, especially if the hook up ratio is good.

At this price, I think I'll wait for a few honest reviews from all you early adopters after you've had a chance to actually fish this thing.
