Wow I never knew a crayfish snake existed! There's that black and blue, even the snake wanted it!

I have had best luck here with green pumkin, or black and blue.

Our crawls are red sides, black backs in ponds n lakes. In rivers there beige. Light tan.

The rebel crawfish cranks come in all colors.

Chartruese BIGCLAW CRAWFISH is my hottest.

Crayfish/crawdads change coloration depending on stage of growth and environment they live in, plus there are 100's of species.

Catching and studying the crayfish where you live and fish is the best way to determine local types of crayfish you have and their colors.

This pretty much explains it. When I was a kid me and my family lived by a creek and naturally I was constantly in that thing catching anything from minnows to darters to crayfish with my net. I would catch crayfish that were anywhere from totally black or brown/orange to black or brown/orange with highlights of red to blue and every color in between.

its best to do what you did and see for yourself what they look like in the water you're fishing. Crawfish can be very area specific. For instance, my honey hole has big black and blue 'dads with orange tipped pincers and I've never seen them anywhere else. Here is a pic of a detached pincer next to a 4" worm, and one being eaten by a crayfish snake.

There you go. Some of the darters here in Missouri are bright  beautiful colors.I mean brilliant orange , with blues , chartreuse and green .  I use to have some in an aquarium.

 

 Theres little in a bass diet that is one solid color. I've been changing my soft plastics from a solid color to mottled with spike it markers.
