5/0 Frog Hook

Anyone know where I can find 5/0 replacement frog hooks?

I like spro frogs but hookup ratio is terrible (they really aren't the softest) while action and colors are fantastic. I upgraded the popping frog from 3/0 to 4/0 and almost never miss a fish. However their regular frog and shad come with 4/0.

Owner makes a 6/0 but I'm afraid it will be too large.

Well if it turns out you need a 6/0, let me know.   I have a 2-pack of 6/0 that Id be willing get rid of for free.  Made by Eagle Claw though.

If you're having trouble with hook up ratio bend the hooks up and outwards. I'd say I have a 90% hook up ratio with my frogs. Give it a try. Let me know how it works

I've never been able to bend the hooks

After you have decided on a replacement hook, I'd encourage you to take a long look at LFT's Frig Tail hook.

Few are talking about these yet but they should be.

I've been using them for a couple of seasons now.

They come through the slop surprisingly clean and Definitely stick those short strikes . . . .

Ajay, can you post a picture? BPS won't load photos on my phone.

My dad used trailer hooks on his frog a couple days ago and nailed them. Said he had no issue with grass.

My issue is that most of my tournaments are on lakes with laydowns and shoreline brush I skip into and throw over.

Oh that's cool, thanks.

Those gamakatsu hooks on spros are unbendable. I've tried even with heavy duty pliers. Is there a trick or do yall just bend the hook point out?

Two needle nose pliers. Grab just under the barb and up the hook shaft where the curve is towards the body. Just ease it until it bends maybe 2-3 degrees. Too much and it will be hanging up in pads. Too much will weaken the hooks as well.

I don't know, but a gamakatsu 3/0 frog hook is exactly the same size as an owner 4/0. Just has a different gap.

Interesting info. May have to act upon it and get the 6/0
