What Type Of Fish Is This?

Featured Replies

My buddy and I were fishing Twin Lakes in Connecticut last fall. After catching a Copie, I landed this one. I thought it was a baby, which hasn't changed colors yet. Then, later on, looking at the picture of the Angler's Guide looked like an Atlantic Salmon. (I placed it back safely, no worries!) Then, I thought it could be a trout, but was missing some of the color patterns. What do you experts think--we're still debating months later! Thanks!

It's a salmon for sure, but no idea what kind. It looks like you might be right with your guess to me from looking at pictures.

atlantic salmon. they were all small at one point.

Pretty sure its a kokanee, which is a landlocked sockeye salmon. The only salmonids that are listed for Twin Lakes are rainbows, browns and kokanee. Im positive its neither a brown or rainbow.

Kokanee would be my guess
