Tournament Boat

Featured Replies

I'm going to get back into tournament fishing again. The bug has me..

I'll need a boat. I'm considering a new Lowe or a used Fiberglass that would have to be mint. I wouldn't consider anything less.

I'll be fishing the North East.. Would you recommend the new Lowe Aluminum or a pre-owned glass boat? 18' should work for me. $15k + or -..........

You should be able to find a pretty dang nice glass boat for 15k. Just don't get in a hurry when buying.

Lowe Stinger perhaps?

Glass boat for sure! If you're fishing with a partner or co angler you might want to think about a 19 or even 20 foot boat and with 15k, like stated already, you should be able to get a heck of a used boat. Let us know what you pick! Either way you're gonna love it!

I don't know prices in the N/E but on the west coast I bought a 1998 ZX202 (20' 2") Skeeter with a rebuilt 200 h.p. Yamaha V Max (had to do a little adjustment to get it to run right - minor stuff) with min. electronics (gave to friend) and an old 44/88 trush MK. Replaced all electronics & tm. Total cost was under $15,000.

I also put an onboard charging system (3 bank), added another bluige pump, bought a 12' push pole, and all new safty equipment.

This was 3 yrs. ago and with over 200 hrs. since, NO PROBLEMS! I run her at an avg. speed of 50+, the new electronics work fine and the replacement tm as well.

A little time and elbow grease on your part, you should end up with a great boat!

Minor engine work consistised of replaceing the plug wires and cleaning fule lines.

I'd look into an Xpress boat/ best I ever owned, looks like glass but built like a tank.

You can find really nice glass boats for $15k up here.  Especially in the hills since there is such a limited customer base for a bass boat.

For Example:

That is nice boat for the money.
