Caught A Frog Fish Today

Featured Replies

Don't really do too much frog fishing. But I wanted to try these matts out at a local lake. Casting around the matts I actually had a couple frogs chasing the boo yah frog I was dragging. Then I hooked into a 14 incher. After release I immediately miss 3 in a row. Setting the hook too early. But all in all a fun day.

Awesome. You are gonna miss your share but everyone does. After I caught my first frog fish I was hooked. You will get better with hookups with experience, but the best advice I got was try and wait until you feel the bass actually has the frog. It is not always easy, especially when you get a big blow up that startles u after several casts. You just instinctively set the hook, at least I do sometimes. I love frogging and to me it is worth the below average hook up ratio because nothing is more exciting than seeing a bass go after a frog. Keep us posted on your frogging adventures!

My thoughts exactly. Thanks for the tips.

Frog fishing is AWESOME! I caught a 3 on one today and missed about 15 fish on one a couple days ago. Nothing beats topwater!
