Has Anybody Used The Z Man Minnowz Swimbait

Featured Replies

Im looking for a decent, durable paddle tail to use as a trailer on spinnerbaits.  The key word is DURABLE!!  I want something that will last more than a couple fish.  I figure the elaztech ones would be a sure bet but I'm wondering a couple of things.  How would this swimbait affect depth since elaztech floats?  I'm also wondering how the action of the tail is compared to other swimbaits.  Any advice?  TIA!

They are killer on a bladed jig. Had a buddy use one for probably a solid 2 months on his bladed jig. (FYI... he throws a bladed jig a ton, catches a lot of fish on them, and probably fishes 3-4 times a week.)

Blue... feel free to chime in.

I've never tried the Elaztech paddle tails but I can attest for the tubes, best action from a tube that I've ever seen.  don't let them get too hot and keep them away from other soft plastics.  I always keep them in their own package.  I usually stick with Fluke Jr but as you've probably found out they're rather easy to tear.

I'm going to ride this Elaztech question and ask about the Ned Rig.  I just discovered this a month or two ago and have read anything and everything about it.  My question is, would the 4 inch Elaztech tubes work as well?  I've got a few packages of those and would like to try them out before I jump ship and purchase the TRD or Hula stick.

I use them almost every time I fish. I use them for grass that reaches the surface. Rig it weightless and since it's a floating bait, i just walk it across the surface. It's deadly on hot summer nights. The durability is insane, I've been using the same one for about 2 months.

As mentioned before, either store them all by themselves in a box, or as I do, I just keep them in the original bag, they'll melt everything else they come in contact with.

I use the Ned Rig also, there isn't anything that says you couldn't rig an Elaztech tube, it'd probably do very well. The TRD's though are everything the hype says, those things just flat catch fish.

You could probably throw anything you want on a mushroom head and get results. Will it have the same action or will you "work" it the same way? Highly doubtful.

TRD's it is.  I'm going to Table Rock in a few weeks and I'm going to try it out (Ned Rig) for the first time so I might as well use it correctly.

Get the TRD and hang on at the rock!

The Minnowz work great on a bullet head for smallmouth.
