Majorcraft Vokley 69Ml Bfs

Featured Replies

Ok so I received the vokley 69ml xf yesterday. Rod showed up safe and sound. Well packaged and very secure. Upon first look I was immediately impressed. Extremely light. Excellent finish. Very nice cork handle.

Nice soft tip with a crisp pronounced transition into the perfect amount of back bone. Quality micro guides that were nicely wrapped and super straight. It was love at first sight.

I mounted a shimano chronarch 50e with an avail honey comb micro cast spool and bfs air bearings from hedgehog studios on that bad boy and the balance couldn't have been better with out it being a custom rod.

spooled it up with 20lb suffix 832 and tied on a 1/16 ounce Texas rig with 1/0 hook and a 4 inch ribbon tail worm

A quick walk to a neighbors pond was almost unavoidable at this point. No monsters there but plenty of dinks.

Sensitivity was great. I felt every bluegill perch small bass and cover that my worm came in contact with. All of the above was very pronounced and unmistakable.

I can't believe I got this rod for 150 dollars. It's excellent. one hell of a rod in my opinion. I'm glad I splurged on the vokley before I spent more than double on the Megabass

That looks sweet. I like the cork, very classy looking. Looks like a nice solid reel seat too. Congrats!

Got a day off to put mine through its paces. Should be a perfect day, too. Bluebird skies, calm winds, ~88*... finesse weather. See if I still think it was ¥17,800 well spent.

Nice. I'm waiting for the weather to clear up down here. It's ashame how anxious I am to do some serious fishing with this thing

Catch of the day on a 1/16 owner shakey head with a morning dawn roboworm.post-50560-0-88378500-1441924475_thumb.j

this one wasn't bad, either on a 1/16 mojo rig with an owner shiver tail wormpost-50560-0-99321500-1441924562_thumb.j.

I love this rod! Incredible sensitivity, fish fighting backbone, awesome casting distance. Now I need a volkey basic series bass rod. BACK, Tackle Monkey! BACK!!!

I actually caught the one in the second picture using the old unintentional dead stick technique while picking out a backlash.

The basic series Volkey has regular size K guides rather than the mid micro size on your bfs rod. Just thought I'd throw that out there. I'm waiting to see/here more about the newly introduced Speedstyle series. You should check them out. They look fantastic.

Right on. That's what I'd prefer on a basic bass rod, anyway. Still need a medium jig rod to round out my collection. The big lake series rods have double footed k guides all the way up the blank. Not sure what that's about. That's some heavy duty stuff. Meant for sharking or something, I guess. Lake sharks, lol.

Are they gonna be USDM? The rods they have on TW may be decent, but they're definitely not in the same caliber as the volkeys even though they're almost as much.

I'm not sure, but here's to hoping. I know they are supposed to bring over one more line to compliment the Corzza.

The XUL is labeled regular, the UL and L are labeled Regular Fast, and the ML is labeled XFast. I'll post a pic later, but the 68L has what I consider to be a fast action. Definitely on the fast side of reg fast. I'm anxious to see the taper on the 69ML to see what the difference is.

I tried to get a good picture of the taper today while fishing the 69ml. It didnt work out too good though. It's definitely what I consider an xfast.

Yeah, you really need help. I haven't employed the wife to do it yet, either.

Caught 3 nice fish today on the 69ML and I couldn't be more impressed with the way this rod handled.

Yeah, buddy, these rods are awesome! Landed this lunker with the 68L/bfs on a duo Realis crank 48sr. Handled it like a champ!post-50560-0-25488300-1444351289_thumb.jpost-50560-0-91314900-1444351310_thumb.j

Yeah, those are nice. They're hard to find, though.

Ever fish an Elite Tech Smallmouth rod?  How about a Quantum Smoke?  I believe the Smoke is shorter than the Smallmouth.

EDIT:  Nice looking rod OP.  Congratulations.  I've got a TD-Z 105H with upgraded spool and no rod.  Will have to give Vokley a look.

That short aren't favorites of mine either, but I like the rods a lot otherwise.  Not hard to make minor adjustments on how you hold a rod.

The handles aren't that short. They're 14" from fore nut to butt. Pictured are a volkey and ms-x along side tatula rods with 13 3/4", 14 1/2", and 16" handles.
