Does anyone have any experience with the GL2 Drop shot spinning rods by G. Loomis? I am considering getting one, and like the feel. I just would like to know how it performs for different finesse techniques on the water.

The GL2 is the least bang for the buck from Gloomis. There are as good or better at better prices IMO.

Is there a specific reason why you say that? What would you recommend? I was also looking at at croix in the less than 200 dollar price range.

I just acquired a GL2 jwr, its nice. My buddy just got the dropshot rod, I'll keep you updated. 

I use a fenwick elitetech and it's great. Super light, very sensitive. 

If you want to stay Loomis in that range, go for the E6X. The gl2 is just not a 200 dollar rod. Unless you are getting it on clearance. I use a Fenwick et for ds and s shimano crucial. Both are excellent.
