Fishing Advice In Pennsylvania.

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I live in Northampton county PA. I do a lot of fishing on small lakes in the area from shore. I was wondering if any of you guys have fished on either Lake Minsi, Leaser Lake or Hidden Lake. If you have I would love to know any tips or tricks you guys have to share about fishing these waters. Also if you live in the southeast part of PA like I do I would love to hear about any bodies of water that you guys like to fish.

Thanks!

Leaser has been butchered by the state, Minsi is good from the shore since there's so much available, Hidden isn't worth the drive, you got the Lehigh and Delaware but you'll have to work to find open spots.

I live in Bucks Co. Welcome!

Leaser lake is making a comback. Garenteed. Shore fishing will be tough. If you can find the bait you'll find fish. The lake now has an abundance of cover. Man made structure. Flooded forest. Caught a 3 1/2 pounder yesterday from shore deep in the brush.

I fished Hidden and Minsi a bunch of times last year from my kayak. Hidden was decent but it's very shallow and gets real weedy in the summer! Anything you use better be weedless! I did great at Minsi last year caught a lot of bass and pickerel. Had the best luck with wacky worms. Saw a guy catch the biggest crappie I've ever seen out of Minsi last fall.

Did they flood Leaser Lake again? The last time I fished there they drew it down and stocked it with trout to make it a put&take lake. Before that they flooded it and stocked it with bass, sunfish and other warm water species. Also heard they are drawing down Pecks pond to fix the dam. Sad, it was an awesome place for crappie and bass.
