Went to look for a drop shot rod found one a 7ft legend extreme it was a customer return 2" of tip was broke did I care no I got a 400.00 rod for 50.00 I immediately put my ss 1300 on it and went to fish below a dam in town caught 4 smallies what a way to try out my new rod its a legend extreme 7 ft fast action 4/10 lb should work pretty good ill probably put a sahara or symetry on it eventually they bad a LOT of rods there by the way! wish i could go up there to check out the blanks they might have !! i just wait for the local fishing show (Fred Hall show) and check out Phenix rods blem bin , they usually have about 200 different rod blanks , some have just finish blems , i scored a 7'8'' M1 spinning blank last time for $20 , i'm going to go through all the blanks and get at least 4-5 !!! can't wait !!!

They don't sell blanks at the outlet store.

 

They have a basket full of rods that have had the tips replaced. There is a big measuring stick next to it so you can see how much of the rod is missing. To find a Legend with only 2 inches gone is a find. I think the locals visit every day to see what new rods show up and grab the best ones right away. 

They do sell blanks, but they don't sell blems or seconds.  I just bought a blank there a few weeks ago.  You have to ask, they don't have them on display.

I found a couple with "crooked" tips most had tips broke 2" isn't going to stop me from getting 400.00 rod for 50 bucks I can't spell geniuss but I know better. Junebugman

Is there just the store in Park Falls? I'm heading up to madison to get my new puppy in a couple of weeks and wouldn't mind stopping at a croix store first.

i don't go to the long beach show , just the san diego show , i met a few of your family at the West Coast Custom Rod and tackle show in Pasadena years back , i wish they still had that show , or they would have something like it !

Park Falls is about 240 miles from Madison. That's nearly 500 miles round trip farther from Central IL and over 8 hours extra driving. The money you'll save on a rod or two you will just put into your gas tank.

There is a beautiful state park, Copper Falls another 40 minutes North of Park Falls if you'd like to do some nature walks.

I was wondering if there was more than one. Preferably closer to Madison. That's too bad, would have been a fun opportunity.
