Our plans for our 30th wedding anniversary have changed from going to New Orleans to Harrahs Southern California in Rincon. I'll be there from 10/24 to 10/29.

Looked around and found a few lakes (Wohlford)

Was wondering if anyone might have any info on this area or even be willing to take a fellow BR member out for a day. Expenses will be paid for of course. Problem is I will have no equipment.

If you can help or recommend a guide for a day, please shoot me a P.M. I'm not a gambler.

Thanks in advance.

CWB,

Congrats on your anniversary 30 years is an admirable feat!  I have family that lives in SD (la mesa area) and I've used a guide named Joe Fish (Joe Marshall).  Great guy and his prices are reasonable.  I have fished the El Capitan reservoir northwest of El Cajon and Lake Murray.  Give him a call and see what he can do for you.

Keep in mind the SoCal is going through a 4 year drought period and our famous bass lakes are more than 50% down in water levels. Lake Hodges is near where you are located, about 1/3 rd it's full pool size, currently has decent early bass bite.

Lake Wohlford is a smaller lake with decent bass fishing and a chance at a DD, this time of the year the 1/3 rd of the lake near the dam is where these bigger bass locate.

Lake Morena can also produce DD bass and decent bite.

El Capitan has a fair top water bite going on, decent fishing.

Dixon is the smallest of these lakes and has a good bite going on small bluegill swimmers and soft plastics.

You have a few good choices to try out. Enjoy you time in our state...good luck and congratulations on your 30th anniversary.

Thanks Tom.

I was hoping to get a few names to scope out.

Love to get one like you are holding!
