What website is the best to find current lake temperatures?  I cannot find a website that will give me current water temperatures on a local lake.

Here in Oklahoma the state wildlife department website does weekly lake reports.

Lake water temperatures tend vary by depth, are you looking for the top 3' of the water column temperature?

River water temperatures represent the water column because moving water tends to mix and be a constant water temperature.

Missouri's Department of Conservation emails a fishing report that you can sign up for on their website and it provides surface water temperatures from early Spring until mid-Autumn for a great number of lakes and rivers in the state.  I checked the Illinois DNR site and their fishing reports don't supply that information.  Some local newspapers (and their websites) will provide the information once a week.  Also, major lakes controlled by the US Army Corp of Engineers should have their own websites that provide daily lake information, including the surface temperature.

Missouri's Department of Conservation really does a great job of getting that information out. I have been on the mailing list for years.
