Aldebaran 50 6.5.1 Or Antares Hg

So I'm having a difficult time to pick one.  I wish I could afford both!  I am leaning towards the Antares because it will be paired with a GLX 853C or 894C.  I am mainly going to use it for plastics, that is why I would prefer the higher speed.  Plus the fact the Antares is half the price! But the Aldebaran is no slouch and I like size 50 reels.  Right now my 853C is paired with a Curado 50E and my 894C a Chronarch CI4+.  Both are being sold for the same price.  (300 USD)  Both are mint (guy didn't fish with them at all).   Which would you take?

Seeing as you can get an aldebaran 50 for under 300 new in Japan I'd get the antares

Yeah, $300 USD is a grrrreat price on an Antares HG.

Great thanks for the feedback guys. Antares it is!

How big your hands are should be a deciding factor. I like reels the size of the 50 size Shimano's up to the 200E size Shimano's. When I had my Antares HG, I kept telling myself that I wish this thing was as small as my Scorpion XT1500's but that was not the case. The Antares is a big reel and other than being too big for my hands, it was perfect in every other way.

IIRC, 21Farms did a real quality side by side pic comparison between the Scorpion XT1000 and the Antares HG over at TT. It would be great if he saw this Thread and posted those pics here.

Yar, Norm is the bomb * when it comes to photos. I'll say that while the Antares is not 50-sized, I have average hands and it palms comfortably. It's basically a fat Metanium.
