Ultra thin cranks (foiled)

Featured Replies

The baits in the first pic are 3/8 and weigh 1/4oz.   I'm playing with the foil again and this batch was not too bad.  Pic number 2 and 3 are baits I came up with to use my left over wood.   1 is a wiggle wart clone that's 2 inches long.

:) You set the bar very high Marty. Very nice work. Just as I expected. I like the 2'nd and 4'th pics.

Is one a silver foil and one a gold foil, or is my eyes deceiving me? Can you do one of them in the bait we been discussing? Good job Marty.

Wow - fantastic stuff, Marty!!!

foiling looks like a pain in the ***...

Talk about kicking it up a notch! Excellent job on that foil marty.. You'll have to give me some pointer's sometime... :)

Marty if your just playing with foil now, can't wait till you start getting serious. Great baits.

Thanks guys, I have foiled baits in the past but was never happy with the results.    Thanks to my buddy Rob Cochran, I'm happy with these results.   Still room for improvement as you will see in the next batch.    Foiling baits is not that hard but very time consuming as it adds several more steps to the build.

You do have to watch your ballast weight because the foil and extra coats of clear will add some weight to the bait.

The foiling looks good Big M. I hope you post more up like these  :)

I used standard kitchen foil and all started out silver in color.   On the two baits where the foil looks kind of gold, I shot createx flo yellow over the foil.

Those look nice Marty.  Kitchen foil?  Better you than me!  I use Venture BriteBak adhesive foil to delay going bonkers.

Very Nice! Those look good Marty!

Marty, those baits are sweet! I really like #'s 2 and 4

Holy Schnyckies (sp?) - those are incredible.  New guy here that is infatuated with flat balsa baits (Dee, Wee, Lazer).  Do you sell your goods?
