Never Worked Before, But...

...This fall seems to be the Fall of the Spinnerbait

Almost every outing I've had I don't catch anything until I put on one of my white-skirt / silver or gold colorado blade spinnerbaits.

I can't say that I've ever had any measurable luck with SB's but this year it seems like that's all they want. I kept hearing about the "hot fall bite" and how they start going after baitfish heavily in the shallows. So I run this spinnerbait just below the surface in shallow water, where the blades just barely turbulate (is that a word?) the surface of the water. Seems to be what those little fish want.

If you're having tough luck, it might be worth a throw

last weekend it was all they wanted with my buddy and i... all dinks, but only biting the spinnerbait. white and chartreuse was the ticket 1 gold willow blade 1 silver willow blade

last night only managed 1 fish at the pond, but it was on a spinnerbait.  i had thrown a wacky worm and jig right at him a few times, but no luck.  1st cast on the spinnerbait and had him on....

I've had zero luck with spinners this year..I was pretty disappointed to be honest.

Bulging a spinnerbait is a pretty consistent fall pattern for me every year.

Great topic and absolutely true.  If you have wind, chop, shallow weeds - there aren't many baits that will work better.  Besides, the bite on a spinnerbait is awesome!

Keep using it until it dies, when it dies on top, just follow the fish down as the water cools.  We've caught them slow rolling on the bottom when water temps plummet into the 30's around here.

A guy in my club got 3 for 17lbs last Saturday on a war eagle spinnerbait. Def hot fall bait

Good tip. I might have to try one next outing,

though my first/only outing this month was a

rousing success (to me) with 7 bass and one

bluegill. 5 on a 4" Stik-O, and two on a 4"

GYCB shad shaped worm.

I think I have a white/gold spinnerbait somewhere.

My spinnerbait catch rate has skyrocketed this year also especially ripping through dying Kissimmee grass.

A white/Chartuese skirt w/silver blades.
