Sojourn Or Shock

Featured Replies

I have a curado I and its my go to, do all, all purpose reel. I have and use spinning reels for everything so this reel is it. I fish from a kayak. Also, I'm a very hands on and visual shopper so online is frustrating for me.

Sojourn 6-6 M for $30 or Shock 7 MH for $40?

Do I need a MH to cover all applications or can I do it with a M? Also, 7 feet is preferred but can 6-6 get it done?

I have a Lightning Shock 7MH. It is a good rod that covers almost all techniques for me. I think that would be more versatile than the Sojourn M.

I like a shorter 6'6" rod from my kayak.  I always try to get away with a "M" when possible they are much lighter than the MH models.  If you are doing 1/2oz texas riggin with big creature baits then this setup doesn't work so well.

Another vote for the shock... I have a spinning and casting model that I use for kayaking. They have taken a beating and still get the job done.

Thanks guys

I have a 6'6" Shock Medium and love it. Very sensitive for the price range.

Shock here too

6' 6" M casting

7' M spinning

I like to use a 6`6" spinning rod with braid when fishing a fluke and usually in the medium range. Broke a few shimano and even more Abu rods over the past 3 years trying out the shock rod this year and its worked well and hasn't broken so that's a plus

I have the 6-6 spinning already and no complaints. I will get the 7 cast. Thanks guys for your input.
