Featured Replies

I'm thinking about practicing splitting a rear grip on one of my cheaper rods ( for practice before i move into the big leagues  ;D ) and i remeber seeing a tutorial on one before in this section but i can't seem to find it, could someone list the link to it??? Also i Remeber one thing from it and that was when you are done sanding everything down to epoxy it to increase the life of it ... and i saw someone on another site using clear nail polish, is this a safe alternative, is clear nail polish water proof??? All answers will be appreciated

Personally I would not use nail polish on that large of an area.  If you plan on doing this to more than one rod get some proper finish and a spool of thread..  I have done my 2 extremes and my Avid.  I had to wrap and finish the extremes, but was able to get all the epoxy off the Avid perfectly and I did not finish it.You do not need to finish the split area if the blank looks good. I still had to wrap and finish where the foregrip was on all 3.
