Sufix Elite Vs. Yo-Zuri Hybrid

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

In your opinions, would Sufix Elite or Yo-Zuri Hybrid be a better line choice for cranking, topwater, and spinnerbaits? I plan to buy ~10 lbs. test, and would like to know how the two lines perform in terms of abrasion resistance, castability, stretch, etc.

I have both the Sufix Elite and Yo-Zuri. And from my experience, the Sufix is softer and has more stretch. If you are planning to use a baitcaster, I'd say go with the Yo-Zuri. It will be more sensitive, more abrasion resistant and probably last longer.

Suffix is a Nylon mono Yo-Zuri is a Nylon/ FC hybrid, both 10 lb test is .012 diameter, about equal in performance, the difference is Nylon line tends to be more buoyant than FC hybrid.

I prefer Berkley Big Game for these applications, it's a coin toss.

I hate saying this and I know everyone else here loves it, but I would be careful of the 600 yd spools of 15lb yo-zuri.  I have gotten two and it's been one of the worst lines I've ever used.  I used to use the 6lb test and it worked well for me on a spinning rod at the time.

Sufix Siege for those applications.

Sufix Siege for those applications.

15Lb yo zuri works best on BC and with 1/2 oz or more baits i have no issues with it slinging spooks and 3/4 oz traps.Anything above 8 in HZH is for BC imo 4 and 6 are perfect line for any technique with spinning reels.
