I have a carolina skiff that i use almost exclusively for bass fishing with the occasional inshore trip.  I have been wanting to put some sort of rod strap on the front deck to hold some rods on the front while im up there fishing since its hard to throw a follow up lure in after I get down off the deck and get a different rod from the main level of the boat whe  I drew a line in the picture to show where i was considering putting one(maybe a little further forward but that general area).  95% of the time i dont have a seat of any sort up there so i dont have anything in the way to keep me from moving around.  Just curious as to yalls opinion on this?

I have been looking for that adapter and every place I find it is either out of stock or wants $15-20 to ship it when it cost less than $10 itself.  If anyone knows a place to get these adapters I would greatly appreciate it.

post a wanted ad in the flea market. If you have facebook, there's a ton of pages to buy and sell bass fishing gear, that's where I got mine. You are right though, they're hard to find and I've been looking for another for awhile.

Rod buckles are the best out there. A lot of the big box outdoor stores keep the parts in stock. If you can't find them and you need something fast, there are others out there such as rod saver. They will wear out much quicker but are cheap and easy to replace. Another option would be to find two small lagged I bolts and a bungy cord.

I use the system that was made into my Javelin but use Rod Savers in my jons a couple other boats. They are easy to find, install and use, but in the long run, the most expensive because you will probably be replacing the dang things every two or three years

That back-rac looks handy but those folks sure proud of them for $125.00 each.

I have used Rod Savers on each of my last 8 boats.  They take up little room and do not cost much. I just had to replace mine but they were 6 years old and had begun to get brittle.  Mine are on my Lowe bass boat that sits outside under a cover. Maybe some of these other boaters keep their boats uncovered, perhaps in boat slips.  I would install a set on the left side of your front deck, that would leave the area on the right open to get up and down.  Just my two cents.
