Doug Flutie - Both Parents Died 1 Hour Apart

I'm sure there are a lot of Flutie fans here whether from his BC days,

CFL days, or his days as Jim Kelly's heir apparently...not.

Very sad news to hear he lost both of his folks to heart attacks

within one hour of each other.

I lost my mother earlier this year. So glad my Dad is still around.

Man, thats horrible. Its tough enough losing one parent, but both so close together is aweful.

Agreed. Though it is quite interesting for it to happen

1 hour apart.

It could be a week, a month but the one that is left living has a broken heart from being left behind. In this case both parents had weak hearts. Better to die fast than suffer.

My family has heart attacks it's common. Most smoked. I didn't smoke.

Didnt smoke? You do now?

I read this before. Such a crazy story. As a Bills fan, he's always seemed like a great guy, too.

Likely a blessing.  I've always told my wife that if we do not go together, I want to go first. Probably selfish, but I think she would do without me better than I without her.

I still don't smoke. I lost two brothers who smoked to heart attacks one at 43yo and another at 52yo. My third brother is alive but has clogged veins from smoking. He's in rough shape. My heart is ok because I don't smoke.

I tell my misses if she goes first I will soon follow her she isn't getting away from me that easy. Lmao

Doug's life has been a tribute to his parents.  They obviously did a great job at raising him.  Those life lessons will stand him in good stead as he deals with their passing.

Doug Flutie had a notable career at quarterback.  The miracle hail Mary pass to defeat highly favored Miami in the final play of the game.

Another notable play for Flutie came as he was playing for the Patriots.  Not many quarterbacks have accomplished the feat.
