Reparing Rod Guides?

Featured Replies

So earlier this season broke the 3rd guide down from the top of my drop shot rod, I have no experience with tying new rod guides on and don't know what materials I'll need or if they sell a kit. Does anyone know any good how to videos or anything that can help me out?

Check out Mudhole.com and go to their instructional videos.  I think Getbitoutdoors.com has some too.

Perfect! Thank you!

The first guide replacement I did, I used a thread bobbin like the one pictured. I ended up stripping all the guides off that rod and re-wrapping them. It was easier than I thought and I have since gotten into rod building, I enjoy it so much.

The  videos on the sites mentioned were a big help.  Be sure to check them out.
