Lake Gaston

Featured Replies

If any of you guys fish lake Gaston  I'd like to here about some popular and effective baits for Gaston.

Whatever your favorite bait is, it's most likely effective on Gaston.  I love that lake, it's got a little bit of everything...I can't really think of a technique that hasn't worked for me on that lake at one point or another.  Take a look at Brian's link too, good stuff beyond tackle suggestions.

Make me pick 2 things for anytime/anyplace on the the lake?  Jig and shakeyhead.

I grew up fishing Gaston, and still learning it! Around this time of year, I'm fishing deep points and bluffs with jigs and shakeyheads. You can work a jerkbait painfully slow and get some monsters as well.

I do best with Jigs by far, but also do pretty well with Shad Raps this time of year
