Favorite Rod Brands/Models to use?

Loomis 852s - NRX or GLX

I use two rods for throwing GY 4-5" senkos. Both are St. Croix LTBs.

- 6'8" MXF

- 7'1" MF

Both rods have a Shimano Chronarch 51E.

I use both.

Spinning: St Croix LES 7MF, Shimano Saros 2500, 10 lb. PP line + 8 fluoro leader

Baitcasting: Dobyns DX 743C, Shimano Chronarch CI4 151HG,  30 lb. PP line+ 8/10 fluoro leader

Rod I have atm if i want to throw wacky is my 6'8" M/XF, size 1000 reel, 8lb fluoro. Such a light setup and love using it, Spinning of course. I could use a baitcaster with ease but prefer the spinning more for this technique.

I use both depending on the environment, but most of the time I use bait casting gear with 15 lb Abrazx for throwing the wacky senko.   In the boat all the time I have a spinning rig (20 lb braid/15 or 20 lb fluorocarbon leader) for throwing tx rigged senko's / flukes / and similar styles or baits.

Just want to see the collective opinions on best wacky rig setup, i.e. pole, reel, line, etc. Also does anyone use spinning reels or is it all bait cast?

6'8" Med XFast Avid X with a 2500 series Stradic.  Like many, I prefer spinning for this application.  I typically use 1/4oz. VMC wacky jig heads and 8lb Big Game mono.

I also use this setup for regular jigs (IE Grubs), shaky Head, Small topwater, smaller jerk baits and various small hardbaits.

6'8" MH-XF Loomis GLX spinning, 3000 series Stradic CI4 with 20lb. Braid and fluro leader. Hooks- Gammy wicked wacky and wacky head finesse.

I throw wacky rigs on a 6'8" St. Croix LTB "wacky style" rod. 30 Size Abu Premier. I have it spooled with either 6lb fluoro or 20lb braid. I use a 2/0 Trokar weedless wacky hook and an Eco Pro Tungsten Pro Wacky Weight. When you put it all together it really works well.
