Abu ike Series

Featured Replies

Anyone tried out the Ike series rods yet? I like the 2 Veritas I have, but dislike the Vendettas. Not sure why, the Vendettas just feel a little dead in my hands. Would love to hear from anyone who has used the Ikes

I was looking at the Ikes for awhile this fall and saw a couple very positive reviews by BR members here -- ah, just found them here:

I was really attracted to the % tip vs. backbone breakdown on the various models, and it sounds from the reviews like the ratings are dead on.

(In the end, though, I didn't get one, but not because of any negative input -- I blew my rod budget instead on some big closeout/discontinued discounts at the St. Croix bargain room I couldn't resist)

Nope.  Not yet.  I plan on purchasing the frog rod and paring it to a used Megabass Zonda 68.  I like the materials and balance of Abu Veritas rods and love the balance, materials and sensitivity of the Veracity rods.  Fully expect the Ike rods to be technique specific rods that are somewhere between Veritas and Veracity in materials, balance and fit and finish.  I plan on purchasing the frog rod to fish frogs/toads primarily with the rod serving overtime tossing jigs, T-Riged plastics and wacky Senkos.

MI bass already linked my review, so you know these rods get my approval.
