Imagine fishing a tube with a drop shot bait subtly wiggling above it.

Hmm, sounds pretty cool. It's like a Smallie Alabama rig haha

Surprisingly, I've found that fishing a tube on the bottom will get you the "most" bites, of bass in all size categories. However, I've found that over the past 2 seasons especially, drop shotting a tube (nose hooked only) will get you the BIGGEST bites. Not quite sure why this is, but I'm not going to look a "gift horse" in the mouth either! :)

I have done this many many times, especially when the spinshot style drop shot hooks first came out a few years ago............ the funny thing is..................it tells me nothing. I have had days when they wouldn't bite either bait, where they would bite both seemingly at random, and days when the prefer one to the other. I just have a tube (in the last few years a biffle head with a small creature/craw bait has all but replaced the tube for me) and a drop shot rigged up on different rods, and rarely if every combine them anymore.
