my airbrush won't spray

Featured Replies

I had some thing acrylic paint I shot through it. It shot fine. Then I put windex in it to clean it. Now all it wills shoot is air. Won't shoot paint. Don't know why? Any help

?

Take your nozzle tip off and hold it up to the light, if you can see light it's probably alright, if you got a booger up in it you probably wont see light and the paint won't flow. Just try not to drop it!

If it will not shoot plain tap water then it's clogged.   Stay away from the thick paints and buy good airbrush ready paint to save on problems like this.

My needle was dirty. I think I just need to start thinning the paint out a little more. I am shooting createx

You should not need to thin c-tex, most of the colors shoot pretty easy.   Some of the thicker pearls can be a pain.    Try uping the pressure to 25-30psi and see if that helps.

What size is the tip on your brush?

I don't know...Just a regular one I guess..Its a dual action.

IT WON'T SPRAY AGAIN! This airbrush is the worst experience I have ever had. I bought it for sixty bucks off ebay new. It won't spray. I just want to get rid of this things for like twenty or thirty bucks. I don't want to see it anymore!  >;) >:( >:( >:( :( :(

What is the brand of the brush and is it gravity feed?

How are you cleaning the brush?

They have to get a pretty thorough cleaning after each use to keep from gunking up.  It can be a real PITA, especially if only painting one bait, but there's really no way around it if you want it to function properly.

Airbrushes can clog very easy, especially if you don't clean it out perfect after every use. Any little bit left will build up over time. and clog.

When I used a dual action I would always have the pressure on the high end. I didn't worry about overspray and the paint went where I wanted.

if you are using water based paints, soak the brush in hot soapy water for a night and clean it out really good. If you are using oil based paints then run the recommended thinner through it after cleaning out the jar really good. I almost always thinned out all my paints at least a little bit. Also, do yourself a favor and when you buy a new bottle or jar, open it and drop a dozen BBs into it. When you shake it, the BBs will aid in mixing so you don't clog the airbrush with solids.

Good luck. A $60 airbrush is a pretty good one and I want to see you be able to use it for many years.

Its a master airbrush..I have taken it apart to clean it several times...Tried to put cleaner through it but wouldn't spray..My paint was gettin bubbles in it....Its a gravity feed

The tip is clogged.   Hold it up to a light and see if you can see the light.   I have 26gage wire that I use to clean out the tip on my Iwata .35mm.   If it will not shoot cleaner then it's a bad clog.    Try soaking the tip in thinner over night and then use a small dia wire to clean it out.   Do not drop the tip or you will have to buy a new one.
