I wish I would have seen this thread sooner....Big Bear Rods are the best rods on the market. The grips make a huge difference. It doesn't make a difference in sensitivity at all. The rods are light and EXTREMELY sensitive. All the components are high quality and they are made in the USA in Athens Georgia. The grip really does help in cold weather. It stays warm for a decent amount of time after you stop holding it.

I went yesterday and caught a bass in 39.1 degree water. So yes they can be. It also some of the best fishing action at times. Down in Tennessee we use the Float N Fly. Jerkbaits. Jig N Pigs. Just slow slow slow presentations.

Find a senior club in your area....Thats what my bass club does....Ask for help and work around their schedule. To get people to help you must be flexible also

Fluke master has a place in North Carolina he works at......I've also heard from RW about Stick Marsh 13 in Florida. Lake Erie as good Largemouth and amazing small mouth action...I'm sure you can't go wrong anywhere. You just can't have huge expectations. I went to the Collegiate tournament on Chickamauga...Georgia has lots of schools in it..UT is always a big competitor I believe/ UTC has a team. Tennesee Tech does too.
