Lowrance 5.0 update issues

Featured Replies

Anyone having problems with the new 5.0 update for the gen 2 touch? I load updated software on sd card but neither of my units will recognize file. It unzips to upd file.

I have upgraded 6 units to 5.0 with no negative feedback. Can you describe the problem?

Some have had issues with 5.0

I'll PM you a link about it on another site.

I would also be interested in the link Wayne, if you would be so kind.

I load onto sd card but my boat unit is not recognizing it. I have two units. Neither one will read it. Downloaded with Windows 7 computer, Mac, then Windows 10.

Please post the information here Wayne.  No sense in making people go somewhere else to try and find it.

Agreed, I like to know it too before I update my units.

Before doing an update, it is always best to save your settings and waypoints/routes/trails (under Files) .

After doing the install and issues seem to be occurring, do a "restore defaults". This will help load the new and get rid of the old data and will basically bring the unit back to original and it will not affect the waypoints and trails. After that, just simply reload your settings and you should be good to go in seconds.

So 5.0 is still a .zip file unlike the upgrade for Gen3 and StructureScan 3D. Are you D/L the file then unzipping the file to your SD card before you put card into HDS?

Sounds like you have a bad download. Please delete the update and re-download it again.... Tom Branch, Jr. NAVICO/Lowrance prostaffer
