So, whats your opion on the spro bbz1 rat? I just got a size 40 from tw. Here are some pics....

On the Roland Martin show they were straight whacking them with one.  I'd like to get the size 30 myself as I have yet to invest in a swimbait combo.  Should be a great bait - hope you get some fatties on it.

Size thirty is to small i think, my buddy has one that size, they are just to small.

Its not the size that counts, it is how you use it.

If you actually get a hit ~ Well then I'd stick to showers.

You poor guys up north are going stir crazy in the freezing weather. I'm originally from NY so I feel your pain. Wish you could sneak down here to Florida for a week and try that rat in a lake. I bet it would get hammered.

No man, you can throw the 40 on any Medium Fast rod or MH if you prefer. It's not big and it's pretty light. I can't imagine how small the 30 is after holding the 40 in my hand.

Good to know - TW has it listed at 1oz.  I have a MF that I throw topwater and jigs on I might try to throw it on that although its only rated to 3/4oz.  Or I could use my heavier cranking rod a MH rated to 1oz.

I have the size 40 as well and you can easily throw it on a MH jig rod and even a heavier rated cranking rod. The size 30 is really small.

Yeah man, I think the 40 is perfect. I really think you'll dig it and I know your rods are more than capable of handling that bait well. Let us know if you get one!

Have the larger believe 50 size, but do like the looks of the 30 and 40.  I think all 3 have their places and times.  Good action and you don't need a swimbait rod to throw the 40 or 50, I use a 7'6"MH BPS Bionic Blade and it handles that bait fine. Did move down to a slower gear ratio (EXO 200 in 5:4.1) due to the amount of resistance the larger rat has when cranking it.  But they have great action and next spring I see that 30 size just getting crushed and destroyed just before they hit the beds.

Coming to Englewood soon. Guess i better get a Rat.   Yes.  We are goin crazy in the north - cold n snowing in Michigan today and i dont ice fish anymore.   Brrrrrrr!

I throw the 40 on a 7'4" daiwa frog rod.  Rated up to 2 ounces.  Loads perfectly

I have the rat bug as well!  Will be testing these out at Baccarac in 10 days!
