Two part question about worm molds

Featured Replies

First question: how many of you make your own worm molds, and what do you make them out of? I'll admit I forgot to do a search here to see if this has been covered a number of times so if it has can you post a link?

Second question: is it ok to make a mold from a worm that hasn't been in production for a number of years? These would be for personal use,not for sale. I have a few packages of a favorite worm from days gone by that I want to make more of before I run out.

Thanks!

Used plaster of Paris once, I think some guys use rtv silicone. If you're not selling no one will know lol

You can make them out of different material but my best results were from Bondo. The Bondo that I use is for repairing fiberglass and plastic bumpers.

P.o.p for a simple trial run i make my other molds out of resin available at any auto parts store for a more permanent mold. Just use gasket maker to glue the worms down to bottom of a small shallow container. Use water to cover to the worms the. Pour that in a measure cup. then mix up that amount of resin/harder and pour it on.
