Buzzbait or Spinnerbait

Featured Replies

I am heading to my local waters after work and I have a spinnerbait on one of my setups.  It is 63 degrees here in St. Louis and its coudy with 15 mph winds.  I am not sure what would be better.  Buzzbait or Spinnerbait.  I fish these waters 2 times a week and have had success with the buzzbait but I don't throw it until right before dawn.  Any suggestions would be great.

Bass have spawned about 3 weeks ago btw.  Will be fishing near submerged stumps in about 6-12 feet of water.

Thanks, Jason

I would go with the spinnerbait at first and then when the sun starts to go down switch to the buzzbait.

Thanks for the info, I wasn't sure how the clouds affect the spinner.  Its going to be hell trying to control this row boat with my trolling motor.

Can't have both? Then, go with the spinnerbait. You've got way more versatilty with the spinnerbait.

Well I guess I can throw both.  I was going to throw a crank that I have had good luck around 6 pm lately.  I could always just throw the buzzbait on that pole.

Go with the spinnerbait. It's just too versatle a a bait.Great seach bait that you can do a lot of things with.

I find that there's a time and place for buzzbaits, but they aren't frequent. Lot's of fun though when they are hitting it.

Nice thing about fishing line is that you can always retie. So, throw whatever you think will work and then switch it up when you think you need to.

Still, a spinnerbait is numero uno. You can search the water column high and low and in the middle, kill it, burn it, jig it, slow roll it... and you can cast it a country mile with the wind! ;)

wind + spinner bait = a match made in heaven

Man knows his stuff...

spinnerbait , painted blades , go get em

This is why I love this forum.  Not only does it help me slack off at work, but if I am looking to get some feedback within a couple of hours there is usually multiple people (other slackers I assume) to help me out.  Thanks agian, Jason

nothing beats a spinnerbait in wood cover like that, especially in the wind.  Odss are you are gonna be slayin em on the spinner and not want to throw the buzzbait!
