  1. I was hoping someone would say that before i got to the end of this thread. Falcon makes great rods and if you happen to break one all you have to do is send the broken one in and presto you get a brand new one in about 10 days. i experienced their CS first hand in the spring and i give them a 10.
  2. there is always going to be an idiot in every crowd. Most of the time they just don't know when to shut up; this guy just didn't know when to let go. I can't believe the poor guy is already back at work!
  3. Whats this? Not really trying to stir anyone but, Blakemore has it labeled both ways. Hey, Jimmy Houston uses it. Maybe we all should ;D
  4. Welcome aboard. you will probably get more answers faster if you let us know your price range, are you looking at spinning or baitcasting gear, etc. The more specifics the better.
  5. depends on where you buy it- At Cabela's it's Blakemore REEL Magic http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0043343115922a&type=product&cmCat=search&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&QueryText=reel+magic&N=4887&Ntk=Products&Ntx=mode+matchall&Nty=1&Ntt=reel+magic&noImage=0 At BPS its Blakemore REAL Magic http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&partNumber=16524&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults Go figure!
  6. You be the judge- http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,296466,00.html
  7. 10lb Elite with absolutely no problems
  8. I think you're onto something there. Sufix Elite is hands down my favorite mono.
  9. That's a new one to me. Sounds like a rod holder issue or something. ? Sounds like it was tightened down a little too much. The foregrip on LRs screws down to hold the reel in the seat. This may not apply to all models though. I only own one so I can't speak for them all.
  10. Thanks. I've been reading customer reviews on BPS now for the past 30 minutes. There are some real gems in there.
  11. I couldn't agree more. their Graphite special rods are not bad either esp when on sale for 19.99. After fishing the 2 though, i would have to push the Tourney special. Lightning rods are not bad for the price though. I have one that has not let me down.
  12. looks like color is the only difference
  13. Similar thing happened to me in the spring while fishing with a pop'r. A hawg took it off the top and fought hard for a little while , then she broke me off. I think she finally sandpapered my line with her lips. I never gave her a chance to jump but, once she was loose she jumped out of the water every 5-10 minutes shaking and I could hear the pop'r rattling. My lure never resurfaced. I think she had it really deep. Every other fish I caught on top that day had it really deep. A couple weeks later at the same pond I was fishing with a friend and told him the story. A little later he hooked a nice fish and fought it for a while only to lose her and the lure. Well guess who starts jumping out of the water every 5 minutes with a chatterbait in mouth! She did finally throw it while we were watching. Too bad chatterbaits don't float because she threw it out in the middle of the pond.
  14. I have 2 of the Cardinal 502s and I love them. They are plenty strong enough to handle big bass too. Ive hauled in several 5-6lb fish with no problems. Yes they are a little cheaper than the 3 you are looking at. so, another vote for AG!
  15. you could put braid on your spinning reel. Alot of folks do it. Braid has a much smaller diameter at the same test than other lines. So go ahead and put that 20lb braid your talking about on your spinning reel save the baitcaster for 50lb+.
  16. Send them to me. I seem to always land the big fish of the day on a beetle spin when I go fishing with my buddy. My biggest on a beetlespin so far was 6 1/4 a couple weeks ago. My fishing buddy has a 12lber mouted that he caught on a...you guessed it, beetlespin. to the topic- my worst lures are storm swimbaits. maybe that'll change if they ever start producing. i haven't really given them a fair shake though.
  17. what kind of set-up are you using? I use a 6'6" MH rod and have my baitcaster spooled with braid. When a fish hits it I immediately start reeling until I feel the fish then set the hook. I use the Spro frogs and the Snagproofs. Its unlikely that the frog is too big, esp. for a 4+lber. I've caught them from 1lb up to 4lbs on the same frog you are using.
  18. Strike King Bleeding Elite: http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_53055_100006003_100000000_100006000_100-6-3 get one of each color.
  19. hey fishindude- you can't go wrong with YoZuri Hybrid #12 on your baitcaster. No other line goes on my casters, except my frog rod which is rigged with braid.
  20. Okay, does anyone at least have an idea of what the retail price is on these rods?
  21. Need alittle advice from my fellow BassResource.com members. My local tackle shop is selling Team Daiwa-V casting rods for $40. I am seriously thinking about buying 1 or 2. Are they worth the $? Thanks!
  22. I did a Google search for Team Daiwa-V and found a few on E-bay pretty cheap. Sorry to say that you won't be able to match that $12 though. I've found a few of these at my local tackle shop for $40...So, fellow members are these rods worth $40?
  23. Hey guys, Sherwin Williams has a new paint color - Blonde. It ain't real bright but, it sure spreads easy!
  24. Should've gotten a replica made! ;D
