Feather teaser

Featured Replies

Winter is setting in and I was thinking. Has anyone tied a feather teaser ahead of a fluke or swimbait for bass? I have been thinking about doing this. We kill it for weakfish on this rig and was wondering about bass. The  premise is fish chasing bait to stimulate feeding. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Haven't tried this yet but It's one of the things I'm looking forward to trying this year. I was planning on rigging up the teaser in front of a walking style topwater, but flukes/small swimbaits sound like a good idea too.

saw a pro throwing one the other day and it peaked my interest.  although he did talk about how it made it more difficult to cast accurately so that's a downside for me....

Dibs on the technique name! Chicken Necking Frontrunning...

Yeah, it works. I usually use a finesse plastic instead, cause I have them handy. But feathers catch everything, salt and fresh. Weakfish are making a comeback FYI...

Like the idea of tying a fly in front of the finesse bait. I would personally go with a synthetic, bucktail, or a rabbit strip fly. I just have a thing against feathers and marabou when I tie flies.
