Problems with Pflueger Sumpreme XT

Featured Replies

The gears on my baitcaster feel rough when turning the handle. I have cleaned the reel, and I have oiled and lubed it. I need some advice on what my problem might be.

This too vague to diagnose without seeing it. Dry AR clutches and rough worm gears are sometimes misdiagnosed as main gear problems. Dinged up nylon idler gears can be felt. Truly worn out main and pinion gears are actually fairly rare.

Send the reel to DVT.  Get a better than new reel back.  :D

X2.  Every reel DVT's serviced for me comes back better than how I sent it.

You better hurry though, I'm sending them a couple of my newer reels for cleaning, tuning, and recommended upgrades.
