Sub-Forum Title Word Search?

Featured Replies

Lots of discussion about sub-forums lately....and I've been one to regularly say that I don't even use them...I try to read all new content every visit, so I don't notice them much.

However, I was trying to search for threads specifically related to fishing for shad and I'm having a heck of a time.  Likely user error, but is there a way for me to search for threads with 'shad' in the title...but ONLY in the 'Other Fish Species' sub-forum?  Thanks for any assistance.

Go into that forum, type "shad" in the box, and choose "This Forum" from the drop list to the left of the search box. ;)

Doesn't work for me.  If choosing 'This Forum', I don't get a search 'Titles' option

Uhh, yeah it does search the title.  I did exactly what I said to do using "sub-forum" in the search box.  Can you guess what the first thread was? ;)

Got it figured out.  Thanks.

Doing as you suggest brings up every thread with the word in content and in titles, of course.  I'd been trying to filter out those threads that don't have it in title, but I've now found it.

After the search completes, there's a clickable link for "xyz in titles only", which I'd missed previously.

Yep, plus I think there's more in advanced search.  There's always the option to use this syntax in a duckduckgo or google search box:

bassresource.com: gut hooked
