Hey guys, I am currently in college pursuing a business degree. I am currently working on a project for a class where I need to know the current best sellers for 17 and 18 foot aluminum bass boats, I know tracker claims the 175 is the best selling aluminum fishing boat, but where is this information coming from and where can I can my hands on it? Any help would be appreciated with this. 

Try "boat sales statistics by type" in your favorite web search.  I used DuckDuckgo.com, and came up with a bunch of reports.

I posted this on another thread http://asafishing.org/uploads/2011_ASASportfishing_in_America_Report_January_2013.pdf use this to do a comparison of fresh vs saltwater sales of boats in each state or do a how much per capita freshwater fishermen spend on boats .  If you're smart you'll figure out how to use excel and get some good figures .  The bass boat companies aren't public neither is bass pro shop who owns tracker boats so exact figures aren't easy to come by. I've used the above report to create a super spreadsheet that I have submitted to my CEO (FLIR , Raymarine) so it's good stuff

This is definitely useful information. However I need current figures as of this year, which I am finding out is almost impossible. I may move this project to a different product. Is there any other fishing related product that would be easier to find sales figures on? It has to be over $500 and I must be able to determine the current top 3 sellers. 

This year? Publicly posted?  Probably gonna find a hard time in just about every sector.

Call around to some dealers or the major manufacturers and check actual sales or ask how many they built. You'll need to develop some mathematical equation to determine who is the best selling.
