Gander mt first cast sale - Abu villian rod

Featured Replies

Gander Mountains First Cast online sale is ending Saturday and I just wanted to share my recent purchase. I felt like this was a deal I couldn't pass up.

They're offering the Abu Garcia villian rod, originally $179 for $89. With that you get a $30 gift card and get a rebate for the hoodie. On top of that I had x2 $20 gift cards because I have their rewards credit card. So I only spent $50 on it with a $30 gift card soon to follow. I felt pretty excited about my purchase.

With that.. Does anyone have the villian rod and what's your experience with it? I bought the M/L one.

I bought one but haven't used it yet. Got a similar deal to yours at BPS. Rod was on sale for $79.97. I had a gift card and credit card points so paid less than $35. I picked a ML 6'9" spinning rod. From the reviews I read it sounds like Abu Garcia rods run under power so a ML would be more like a M action rod.

I also bought a Villian ML 6'9" spinning rod,I've been using it the last few weeks and just love it.It def fishes more like a M than a ML

They're nice rods. I have a 7'3 H micro. It's sensitive and looks cool but the thing is an absolute broom stick.  I think I've only used it like 5 times in the 2 yrs I've had it.
