i live on norfork lake, in missouri. this time of year {very low water} i find a lot of cranks. a few are beyond repair, but alot just need a new paint & hooks & hardware. i think i will take a stab at repainting & repairing. i do have one question, is ther a way to fix yellowed bills? {bleach, toulene}?

i'd say just paint over them

If the yellow bills bother you that much, maybe the headlamp lens restoration kits they sell at automotive stores may get them clear again.

Don't bother with the yellow bills, the fish do not care.

I've never heard of a process to clear that up.

Bills usually yellow because either they were clearcoated or because the plastic itself has yellowed.  If it's clearcoat, you can remove it with sandpaper and re-clearcoat with a solvent based urethane that will also fill in any scratches on the bill.  Like all urethanes, it too will eventually yellow.  Personally, I'd leave well enough alone.  Maybe paint the lure with a nice chartreuse pattern that the bill will match :

don't i feel dumb, i thought you said yellowed baits. yeah there isn't much you can do with a yellowed bill, any solvents you try to put on it will cloud it up.
