Wanted: Floating Sluggo or Senko

Featured Replies

Does anyone make a floating stick bait? I can't seem to find this item anywhere.  Thanks for any information.

Once you wash the salt out of them Zman Zinkers float pretty well.

I was using one yesterday to try to entice the still half-frozen bass around here.  I gave the ZinkerZ a good stretch and rinse to make it buoyant, then T-rigged it behind a 1/8 worm weight.  In the 39* water, it had all the action of a Slim Jim snack sausage.  I didn't try a Senko to see if they retained their suppleness in  cold water... I should have.

Tight lines,

Bob

You can get a 5" Zinker to float with a thin gauge 3/0 hook, once the salt is gone...It actually can be worked like a spook, but I usually like it falling slow...I don't think anyone makes a straight floating senko, but I know that BPS and Gambler and Luck E Strike all have the old school stiff floating worms, BPS has a true floating Magnum Lizard....I find that fish spit out the floaters that are stiff, but they are all a bit thinner than a senko...Just soak a Strike King Zero or Zinker in gulp juice or water overnight and you will be ready to go...A floating Stick bait behind a split shot is a good idea.
