Holliday park

Featured Replies

Awe are going to be staying st Roland Martin next Monday through Friday.  We are wanting catch oscars. Usually we have no problem doing this each year.  However this year hey say the water is very high and fish are spread out.  I was told to go to the Miami canal. We put in at Holliday park.  I'm not sure how to get to the Miami canal.  We usually just fish in the 3 canals right at the landing.  I know this is a bass fishing forum but unknown you guys know the water better than most.  Any advice on where to catch oscars with high water. Or a map that shows the names of the canals I would really appreciate.

Welcome to BR. The easiest way to reach the Miami Canal is too launch from Mile marker 35 off  Alligator alley. The North and South ramps put you right on the Miami canal. Oscars hold under the willow tree branches... good luck!! Also...you might have better responses if you post this in the SE fishng forums.

If your going out of Holiday Park, run the middle canal all the way until the end.  Make a right or left TURN and you are in the MIAMI CANAL.  The canal runs north and south.   I have not fished out there in years.  Oscars were plentiful back then.  They are a great eating fish, with white flaky meat.

Do you guys know of any flats around Holliday park that we could get on.  We are also shooting tilapia.

Everything "salt" goes in Other Species.

There are unlimited flats out of holiday park ask any one around the ramp where the cuts are to get into them.
