How will they hold up? I carved out a fluke type mold and melted down some old ripped up plastics, and got about 3 good ones worthy of fishing. Is wood okay to use for a while?

The middle fluke can out true-est to my mold

i think it's too porous to work properly.

I'd coat it with a good strong epoxy or some fiberglass resin like Bondo.

I used the mold in the below link. it worked good. I am not sure how long it will hold up. you can also get some ideas from youtube. one guy made his mold out if fiberglass resin. it looked like it would last for a good while.

wood might be ok for a while  if you used epoxy to seal it inside the cavity
