Anybody on the forum fish or from central jersey would love to fish with some local guys!! What have you guys been catching them bass on?? I've been out a few times in the yak and haven't caught anything but them gators

All I've really hit thus far are snot rockets. The few times I have been out the pickerel hit on everything I threw. 

Couldn't agree more. I've caught 20+ pickeral but only two bass this season. What part of jersey are you from?

I'm actually from the good side of the river in PA....  . I just get a jersey license so I can fish to my east since I'm very close to the river, think Sesame Place. I do fish jersey more often than my own state though since I do quite a bit of saltwater fishing in the kayak. I will have to say though that the pickerel fishing has been fun as I've missed a citation c&r pick twice so far by a combined length of <1 inch!

Only about 20mins away, might have to head out there. I've finally caught some bass this past week.

Central Jersey here also- I pretty much only run the Delaware between Trenton and Lambertville (live 5 minutes from washington crossing) and also had some decent luck at Spruce. I'm pretty new to the area so what's some other decent spots?

Hey I see from your post you're in Vineland NJ. I'll be in that exact area for a few days in June. What are some decent public bass places around there? Not asking for honey holes of course just a general idea of where I can go where I stand a chance at catching. Thanks!

I had one other question for boaters: what do I legally need to run a 10+ HP bass boat on the Delaware? I've been reading up on the boat license and safety certificate, etc, and I'm totally confused. I'm about to purchase it but it will be NC registered (college). I hope to launch sometimes above the tidal line if that helps. I guess the question is what do I actually need?

Rainbow and Union are usually good.  Parvin is a lunker lake, although I caught only pickerel there yesterday.

Hit Assunpink today...caught bass but none over 12 inches. At least I got out. Think I should stick with trying to get my Jersey citation pickerel for now.

NJ does not care that the boat is registered out of state you must comply with NJ laws. I'm in PA and have a PA registered boat and a PA boat operators license but I received it (the license) on-line. I'm of the opinion that NJ will not recognise this license, it has to be an in-class license. I say this in-spite of the fact that I'm a certified water rescue tech. in PA and have water and boat rescue certificates issued by the PA Fish and Game Commission.

Anyway, you are going to need a license in NC also. The thing is you first have to attend a safety class and then get the license. Your NC registered boat must have all of the required safety equipment for the state you are operating in. If you get one in NJ from a classroom training environment (not on-line) then you are probably good to go anywhere in the country. Call the NJ Marine Police station nearest you and be sure. The double check with NC.
