I'm looking for a new baitcaster. Does anyone have any experience with the lews speed spool LFS? 

I have 2 LFS and I think there the best reels out the for 100$

Great reel for the price. Sold mine to my buddy to get him started.

Great reel IMO. I just switched to all lews from shimano and have a LFS, 2 TPGs, and a Lazer Tournament. They are all great reels. for $100 I think the LFS is the best reel on the market right now. You wont be disappointed.

I also own two of the Lew's Speed Spool LFS Series, Model: SSG1H. For the money they are hard to beat.

I also have 4 other Lew's baitcasters. Lew's has become my favorite brand so I decided to try out of couple of the LFS. Right out of the box I was impressed. In my opinion these cast smoother with better distance than equally priced reels. I have had the two LFS reels for about 6 months. I am not sure about their durability over the long haul but that is just because I have not owned them long enough to know first hand. So far, no problems.

I'm into third year working previous generation (SSH1) and I like it a lot.  So, I do believe that you probably wouldn't regret that purchase.  However, I probably won't buy another.  I didn't like the handles, but I admit that once I put reel grips on it, I've liked it a lot more.  That said, I'd suggest you take a good look at Daiwa Tatula before you pull the trigger.  If I had $100 to spend on a reel right now, I'd wait until I had $120 and get a Tatula Type R.  If I have to buy it right now, I'd buy a Tatula.  I like my Lews Speed Spool.  I love my Daiwas.

Best $100 msrp reel out there. I've switched to all lews now. 

I really like the Lew's SSH1 I have. Very dependable and smooth. I have been temped to look at the Daiwa Tatula but I read comments they are physically larger and I would not like that.

I just read about the tatula ct on daiwas facebook page. Supposed to be a smaller overall profile tatula with a smaller spool.

I may look at the CT version but I couldn't see going to a bigger frame. Thanks for the info Kevin22

Tatula vs LFS, seems like every other thread on here haha. 

The Lew's LFS is the best reel for under $100. Lew's makes IMO the best reels up to the $200 range. 

Both the lfs or the older ss1 models are great values. I have 5 of the ss1 models and they are solid. The lfs improved on the ss1 platform by reducing weight and going to a slightly smaller profile. While I prefer Lews the BPS pro qualifier was on sale for 70 recently and may be still available at that price. 

I think it's a great reel. I got to use my brother's reel the other day and it really is a quality reel
